My Favorite Team

Hello fellow readers!

Today I am going to tell you about my favorite hockey team, the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit has been my favorite team since I was around ten or eleven years old. The reason I started liking the Red Wings was that my favorite hockey player Pavel Datsyuk was playing there at that time and the team was doing really well. They made the playoffs multiple years in a row and were one of the top teams in the league year after year. I also really like the history of the team and the old players like Gordie Howe, Nicklas Lidström and Steve Yzerman. I know that the team has not been doing well this season. They are the last team in the league at the moment, but that still does not make me switch my favorite team, because I like most of the players they have. In my opinion, they should try to get better defensemen and a good goalie since their offense is pretty good. They drafted a German defenseman Moritz Seider last summer and I feel like he is going to be a core defenseman for the team as soon as he grows a bit more. I hope that they win this year’s draft lottery and get the first overall draft pick and that way they can get the top prospect to their organization. He will be a big contributor to the team for a long time. I really hope that as the years go by the Red Wings will become one of the best teams in the league again.
